FI: The Mess on kauniissa jugendrakennuksessa sijaitseva taidegalleria ja luova tila. Kahden merimiehen pyörittämässä galleriassa pidetään taidenäyttelyitä ja muita tapahtumia.
EN: The Mess is an art gallery situated and creative space situated in an art-nouveau-style building in Katajanokka. The basement served as an architecture studio, wood storage and many other usages in the past - but operations had stopped until ‘The Mess’ opened in 2024. Two sailor, Tuukka and Yasa, use the space as their creative studio, but while they are out at sea most of the year, the space hosts unique exhibitions and events. The word ‘mess’ refers to a space onboard ships where sailors spend their free time. Now it is also a space for these two sailors and their friends to spend their time off, painting and creating their creative messes.
