FI: Arkkitehti C. L. Engelin yhteistyössä professori F. W. A. Argelanderin kanssa suunnittelema, Tähtitorninvuorelle 1834 valmistunut Observatorio toimii nykyisin Tiedemuseo Liekkiin kuuluvana tähtitieteen yleisökeskuksena. Talon vaiheisiin ja avaruuden ihmeisiin näkymiä avaava näyttely tarjoaa elämyksiä kaikenikäisille.
Observatoriorakennuksessa on tähtitieteen yleisökeskuksen ohella myös Tähtitieteellisen yhdistyksen Ursa ry:n myymälä ja toimisto, yliopiston Almanakkatoimisto ja tilauskahvila.
SV: Observatoriet på Observatorieberget ritades av arkitekten C.L. Engel i samarbete med astronomiprofessorn F. W. A. Argelander och stod färdigt 1834. I dag är Observatoriet Vetenskapsmuseet Lågans centrum för astronomi. Observatoriets permanenta utställning berättar om byggnadens historia och rymdens under, samt bjuder på upplevelser för besökare i alla åldrar.
I själva Observatoriebyggnaden finns förutom centret för astronomi också Astronomiska föreningen Ursa, Universitetets almanacksbyrå och ett café som har öppet på beställning.
EN: Designed by architect C. L. Engel in collaboration with professor F. W. A. Argelander, the Helsinki Observatory was completed on Tähtitorninmäki hill in 1834. The Observatory now functions as the astronomy visitors centre of the Helsinki University Museum Flame. The Observatory's exhibition gives people of all ages an opportunity to learn about the history of the building and the wonders of space.
The Observatory building accommodates not only the Centre for Astronomy, but also the offices of Ursa Astronomical Association, the University's Almanac Office and a café (open by reservation only).
